TDA hosts a scale up workshop of hydroponic farming today, October 06 2023.

TDA, along with UNICEF, organized a scale up workshop with the objective to expand the hydroponic farming project to household level across the Tigray region besides farming training centers and schools.

Presentations on ‘Hydroponic Technology: The Future Farming and its role in restructuring of Tigray’ and Cost-Benefit Analysis for Hydroponic Farming’ were delivered by TDA and UNICEF.

The workshop was held in the presence of TDA and UNICEF leadership, including several stakeholders and experts from such different government organizations as Mekelle University, Science and Technology, Bureaus of Agriculture and Health, Agricultural Research Institute, etc.

It was learnt that addressing the nutrition needs of the people is the priority of the project that in turn reduces and prevents malnutrition and stunting.

The hydroponic farming has been piloted in 3 farming training centers and 3 schools.
