TDA hosts Open Day Farm Exhibition & Reception of 60 New Students of Kallamino Special High School/KSHS at the compound of KSHS

TDA organized an open day farm exhibition at Kallamino Agricultural Investment Center/KAIC to show case pre-basic wheat seed produced on 17.5 hectares of land, agricultural mechanization works and hydroponic farming technology in the presence of leadership of TDA, Agricultural Mechanization Research Center, Tigray Agricultural Transition Institute, Tigray Bureau of Agricultural and Rural Development. Agriculture Bureau and Tigray Agricultural Research Institute, experts, farmers, stakeholders and invitees.

Officially opening the tour, TDA’s Deputy Executive Director Dr. Tesfahunegn H/Mariam said the TDA is doing comprehensive agricultural initiatives to address the nutritional needs and food scarcity in Tigray to create a productive self-reliant society. In his speech, he stressed the fact that such an initiative can be achieved through the involvement of many stakeholders. The objective of the exhibition is to transfer various technologies to peasantry and investors of Tigray, added Deputy Executive Director.

Manager of KAIC Mr. Kibrom G/Meskel, on his part, said that the center was established as a center of investment, demonstration, technology transfer, and of training, research and knowledge in Livestock, crops, beekeeping, cultivation of improved varieties of fodder, modern drip irrigation, vegetation, and hydroponic farming technology.

Meanwhile, TDA also held a ceremonious welcomed event to receive 60 new students of Kallamino Special High School/KSHS from various primary schools in Tigray in the presence of their parents, leadership of TDA, KSHS community and invited guests. While issuing his welcome address, the TDA’s Executive Director Mr. Tesfay urged the new comers and existing students of KSHS to work hard day and night in order to redress the sacrifices of your fellow brothers and sisters and to become innovative, competitive and productive to bring about fundamental change in all spheres.

The KSHS, new and old, students through their respective representatives promised to do everything they could to boost the wellbeing of their society and thanked TDA and the people of Tigray for their unwavering support.
